Norfolk Over 60s were given a warm welcome in Cork by Zone Convenor Hazel Foley and Westgate secretary Anna Baxter. A Mixed Fours event arranged by their Irish hosts provided some enjoyable bowls with Gerald Chilvers and Dot Dawson of Norfolk and Carmel O`Shea and Eddie McLaughlin of Cork emerging as the winners. Runners-up were Poppy Smith and Mary Dye of Norfolk and Robert Smyth and Noel O`Connell of Cork with the final going to an extra end. After the competition Norfolk Over 60s Organisers Teresa Goldsmith and Avril Grapes were presented with a Waterford Crystal Bowl on a wooden base which will be used for a new annual Over 60s event.
